Keeping it in the familia.
This table base started life as my parents first kitchen table some forty-five plus years ago. It was brown with a chipboard top and I spent many a meal sitting around it with them telling them about my days and avoiding eating vegetables. Around five or six years ago it came to live with me and I turned it into my outdoor table by changing the chipboard for decking boards and give the steel base a quick paint job.
It has come full circle in the ultimate re-purpose and it is now back home with my folks as their outdoor table. The original design had the top separated from the bottom with a shadow line I always loved this detail so have retained that feature only now the top is crafted from solid red wood and laid out across the width of the table for a unique look. The base received some love in the form of a mid grey powder coat.
The best thing is when I visit my folks I still get to eat at the table I grew up at which holds so many memories.
