Penthouse wall: Form and function converge

Client Nicole, had just finished her penthouse apartment. Everything was to her liking except one thing: the front door aligned directly with her bedroom door and her bed - a feng shui no no. A freestanding feature joinery unit was designed to block the negative flow of energy. The bedroom door side had pigeonholes in which to house knick-knacks deposited as people enter. The apartment side was used to feature a sculptural hanging. The unit was horizontally clad in wide Oak flooring and stained in a warm hue. The result was beautifully crafted partition that served a double purpose and smiles all 'round.
