The Point Table: Inspired by paul evans
248 Facets. 124 individual sections. 31 full diamonds. 1 table.
A table inspired by the artist Paul Evans.
When client David was seeking someone to make a unique table base for his home he was referred to Durwin via existing client Brett, David's business partner.
The brief was to create a table base constructed from metal and to be made up of 30 legs, then with layers of organic weld splatter fused over the laser cut diamonds to merge two completely different styles into one sculpture. Thus resulting in one unique table.
The commission evolved over several months and was a collective collaboration between the client, his business partner and Durwin.
When asked what was the most challenging aspect of the table Durwin replied;
“It wasn’t that any one thing was that difficult on it’s own to complete, there was just a lot of steps along the way. To complete them all to a level that I was happy with, well; that was the difficult part. To see it through to the end was the challenge.”
